FRANKLIN’S GULL FALLOUT!!!!!!!!

Today represented the greatest East coast invasion of Franklin’s Gulls EVER!!! In CT alone, there are at least 35 birds!!!

After school, I managed to see/find 2 first-winter birds at Southport Beach with Aidan. Here is my best digiscoped photo.

The bird on the right is actually a Laughing Gull. It may have lots of black on the head and lots of white in the wings, but that bill is way too large for a Franklin’s. The eye ring is also less prominent, pointing to Laughing.
